Wall Painting on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October
With the weather forecast looking good, we’re going to continue the painting this weekend.
If you can spare some time on Saturday or Sunday, even just an hour, please will you come and join the painting party? If there’s a particular time you can manage, it could be handy to let us know, so that we can coordinate. We’ll then know when to check that there are enough supplies; deal with any problems etc.
Otherwise just come along when you can, any time between 9am and 5pm and join in. It’s likely that there will be one or more people there already, but if not, the paint, rollers and other accessories will be in the front drive of No.3 (or otherwise No.2) Colliter Crescent, next to the lane. Water is available from an outside tap at No.2.
When you finish, please will you return the equipment back to the relevant driveway? There’s no need to pack everything away - just enclose rollers and trays in a plastic bag, or bin bag, tied shut, so that they do not dry out.
Please will you take care to clear up paint splashes as they occur? There are buckets of water and plenty of cloths. If it gets on to soles of shoes, they likewise need to be cleaned so that we leave the lane as tidy as we can. Please take extra care not to get paint on to the driveways of No.3 or No.2.
The plan is to continue the painting clockwise round the lane, from where we reached last Sunday. In general, only paint the wall facing into the lane, including the pebble-dashed wall of No. 3 Colliter Crescent, but not including the tops of walls or coping stones.
Assuming we reach the end, we will probably proceed to a second coat, again working clockwise round the lane. I will attach a sheet of paper to the ‘Wet Paint’ sign where we can record where we have got to - to tell the next people that come.
If you need a break from painting, you can claim a free tea/coffee or cold drink from the Luckwell Pub and we can also use the toilets there. It opens at: 12pm.
Just to be clear, the lane we are talking about is the one opposite the Luckwell Pub, between 132 and 134 Luckwell Road and emerging between 2 and 3 Colliter Crescent.
One other thing: Please take some photos! If you can first check with the people in the shots, it would be good to put some pictures up on the LImP Facebook page.
Thank you
