Refreshing the Street Planters

This is a quick reminder that we will meet tomorrow morning, Sunday 25th September, to refresh the planters on Duckmoor Road and lower Luckwell Road. Meet at A1 Café on Duckmoor Road at 10am.

We have some new plants ready to go in for the Autumn season. So please do come and join in this worthwhile and enjoyable activity if you can. You may like to bring a trowel and gloves, but otherwise come as you are. All are welcome!

Evening Walk (and Pub Visit)

All are welcome to join us for a short walk from Duckmoor Road and along lower Luckwell Road this Thursday evening, 15th September. The main purpose is to review the planters which LImP instigated along the route last December, but we will also be drawing attention to other suggestions for local improvements, such as the proposed street trees. Please meet outside Highcroft Vets on Duckmoor Road at 7pm. We will walk as far as the Climbing Centre, before returning to the Luckwell Hotel (i.e. the pub) to collect our thoughts, at around 7.30pm.

The planters themselves will be refreshed by volunteers on the morning of Sunday 25th September. If you are able to join in this very worthwhile activity, you will be most welcome. Please meet at A1 Café on Duckmoor Road at 10am.

Open Meeting - Park improvements

Bow top railings

We are holding an Open Meeting at 8pm on Tuesday 22nd March, in the Hare pub, North Street. We will be discussing the substantial further improvements to the park which are now in view, notably the renewal of fences and gates, for which funding has been secured. All are welcome. Please come along.

Litter pickLitter pick

Litter Pick
Thank you to all who participated in the Litter Pick in the park on Saturday! It is looking much better and with the joint effort, it was a chance to get to some of the more hidden areas.

If you could help with keeping the litter down over the coming months, it would be much appreciated. Please will you make yourself known to LImP? We know that, unfortunately, the litter does keep coming, particularly during the summer.

Luckwell Park Spring Clean - 12th March

Litter Pick
Calling all park people!

The days are getting longer, the sun is growing warmer, and it’s great to see so many people using the park once again.

To make it a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone, there will be a spring-clean of the park, bushes, courts and surrounding banks to gather up all of the litter that has accumulated over the winter months.

Please come along from 10am on Saturday, 12th of March. Even if you can only spare half an hour, the more help we have the better. Bags, gloves and litter picking equipment will be provided.

See you there!

Planters - all done
Thank you for your efforts this morning planting! Undeterred by a drop of rain, the group persevered until all 219 plants were in. It’s all looking great, with some excellent plants supplied by East Street Fruit Market.

Planting on Saturday 9th January - 10am start

Further to yesterday’s post, we are going to start today a little earlier, at 10am, to take advantage of clear skies predicted for a period this morning, before the rain returns.

Please meet at the A1 Café, Duckmoor Road at 10am - or just come and find us doing the planting during the course of the morning.

Planting on Saturday 9th January

Volunteers will be planting up the remaining planters outside shops and businesses on Duckmoor Road and lower Luckwell Road this Saturday, 9th January. If you can spare some time to help, please meet at the A1 Café, Duckmoor Road at 10.30am - or just come and find us doing the planting during the course of the morning.

The planters are located at: A1 Café, Luckwell Newsagents (Royston Garden News), Luckwell Hotel (Luckwell pub) and Winterstoke Garage 95 (next door to Kellaway builders’ yard). In case of wet weather we’ll try to go ahead anyway, but if it is very bad, you can check the LImP website or Facebook page for an announcement.

Thank you!
